What Blizzard is doing with Overwatch 2, and what Activision seemingly will do with MW2 regarding certain cell phone plans being required to play, is unacceptable and should be stood up against.

It is absolutely ridiculous that I cannot play a game just because I use Cricket wireless. It is absolutely ridiculous that the vast majority of people who use these cell phone providers and don’t cheat are being punished for a small minority of people who cheat by switching accounts/phone numbers. I can’t believe this is happening. We can’t let it continue. With MW2 it’s especially despicable seeing as it’s a $70 game.

I have an iPhone and pay for unlimited talk, text and data just like everyone else, I shouldn’t be restricted from playing a game just because it happens to be provided by Cricket. Cheaters who are dead set on cheating will always find a workaround. A lot of them are spending a good amount of money to do so and will have no issue paying to get another phone number. It’s 100% unacceptable and anti-consumerist to bar normal non-cheaters from playing games they enjoy to maybe stop a few cheaters, who will likely still find a way to cheat anyway.

We need to make our voices heard, not only with our literal voices (or words on the internet), but with our wallets. This needs to be stopped so that more companies don’t begin to follow suit. Reach out to these companies, shine a light on this ludicrousness whenever/wherever you can, and most importantly don’t give these companies a dime until they drop this discriminatory requirement.
