>And advice?

Yeah: don't sit and play video games for very long. There's nothing wrong with not being able to focus on one thing for more than half an hour. Get a book, do some paint by number, whatever. Keep switching it up every half an hour.

Although.. if you can't focus for > 20m but you WANT to be able to, go get checked for ADHD. My 40+ lawyer GF only recently was diagnosed with ADHD, but now that she knows, its a complete game changer. Yeah, the ritalin or whatever shes on helps her focus a bit, but the tricks and mental exercises really help her focus on tasks for hours now. She still flips between mobile games, painting on her tablet, colouring books, knitting and reading books - all within a half hour period, but for work at least she can now focus for hours at a time.

You could also try gaming on a treadmill or a stationary bike. Maybe the not sitting part is just enough to allow your brain to focus on the game.

Come away from Gaming for a while. I read or get into some box set.

I'm the same. I used to have long sessions and then as I got older I sort of lost interest after a period of time. Nowadays I still like to play but I limit it to say 45 mins or the next level or area and the. Stop. Games last longer now but I still enjoy them.

Get a hobby, wood working, hiking, throwing sticks to bicycle spokes on the pathway and posting it on YouTube, lots of things to do other than game.

Fellow duck, have you got any friends or family that you can play multiplayer or coop games with? For me single player games can become pretty mundane, because I haven't got anybody to share my experience with.

Multiplayer games I play together with my brothers and sharing experiences and playing these games together make it that the most simple repetitive game can become fun.

I mean my advice would be to use this and have something else to switch to for another 30 mins or so and then jump back. I wouldn't try and force yourself to play when your brain doesn't want to. I experience something similar but not consistently but if I start to lose interest in what I'm playing I stop before it starts to drag on and switch to watching TV or looking at my phone, if there's nothing else I should be doing.

Exercise instead for awhile. Some times your body gets bored of being still. I recommend bouldering at a gym. Or just going on some hikes.

Common in people who spent a lot of time playing online games and spent time on chats constantly connected checking phone every 2min for no reason. This needs therapy.

I feel like I came across this same "issue" about a year ago.

What I found worked best for me was changing it up, as in games. I know it's hard when there are $70 titles out there now, but maybe stay away from the triple A titles? ( or watch videos and do research to get your best chance of getting something new and different that you're interested in?)

I've come to love indie gaming, pick up a game that's 5-10 dollars when it's on sale and you're laughing, then even if you don't get 2-3 hours out of it and never touch it again, there's no guilt.

It can be a bit intimidating switching it up like that, but there's some really great unique games out there that I would go as far as saying, changed my perspective on gaming. As well as games I've bought for $3 and put 40+ hours in

Hey! I feel the same... at least in my case, I think it's mainly anxiety, because I can't shake the idea that I should be producing instead of playing.

Something that has been helpful to me (if your situation is similar to mine) is to clear spaces in my agenda that are exclusively for relaxing with no obligations.

hope this helps!
