Yeah I started the Netflix show last night. It’s pretty good so far. Is there anything in it that would ruin the game for me or is it more loosely connected and provide context?

Actually season 2 kinda finishes to where Witcher 3 game might be starting. Show doesnt really follow game or book events but it's close enough you will see. As longest you know who is who and what is happening.

Anime prequal is about Geralt master and mentor he is in the game and plays big role.

The show is adapting the books, but the showrunner changed many things (basically all season 2).

The games happen after the end of the books. If you really want to get into the lore, read the books, but there are plenty of youtube videos that'll do the job.

You can even jump into the Witcher 3 not knowing anything about the world. The story is self contained and you get enough infos by reading the descriptions of characters and events ingame.
