Ark: Survival Evolved. Couldn't get into the game at first. Took 4 attempts at it because my mate said it was really good. I've now put in around 600 hours.

Escape from tarkov. Absolutely hated it at first because of how daunting it was. Had a friend pick it up and we learned together. Been playing on and off for 5 years, around 2k hrs.

I quit the game when I realized the combat was turn-based. I gave it another shot a few days later and my childhood mind was ecstatic.

I hated Skyrim the first few tries. I never ended up loving it but I did eventually complete one play through and had fun enough for what it was.
