Something that I’ve been wondering about is that quite a few eastern game series(or at least the more famous ones) tend to be clocking in at around at least 12 entries(including spin offs). The obvious ones that come to mind are: Pokémon(even when counting the double releases as one game), Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy, Metroid, Zelda, Mario, Kingdom Hearts, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Tekken(pretty sure this counts), Sonic etc. Pretty sure I missed a few there.. please correct me if I’m wrong.

As for Western series the ones that come to mind are: Assassins creed, COD, Battlefield, FIFA(basically any long running sports game), Tomb Raider etc. I’m pretty sure I’ve missed quite a few in this category. Someone mentioned Star Wars though I’m not sure those would really count. Did I miss any or make any mistakes?

Note: This is just a random likely very wrong observation that I made and I am willing to accept that it’s a completely wrong one.

if we count Heroes of M&M and M&M dungeon crawlers as one greater franchise, that's there.

wizardry reached 8 titles by 2000, and then japan adopted wizardry ip and released their own entries. that might get over 12 altogether as well.. :D

ultima and ultima underworld and ultima online add up together to a nice 10+ easily as well.

Pretty sure the Need for Speed franchise would meet this criteria.

I mean, why not? There are a shit ton of Star Wars games dude.

Spyro had 13 excluding the remakes. Even more than that if you technically count the Skylanders games as part of the franchise. Though how it has that many is beyond me since only the first three games are any good...

Tom Clancy has something around 40 different games if you go by brand name alone, though they are fractured into different storylines and settings. Even if you only count related games though, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six still have well over 12 titles.

Medal of Honor at 15.

Grand Theft Auto has 11 standalone games...so almost.

Nah, I don't think so. Japan has just been in the gaming business a lot longer and a lot harder than the rest of the world, and the giant corporations like Nintendo didn't have too much direct competition back in the day so only natural they'd survive and prosper into the modern era with long-running franchises.

Mario has been around since 1985, Xbox has only existed since 2001.

that's still skyrim, 1 game. Anchorage is DLC. FNV i counted in 5main entries, you do know that, right? fallout 1 2 black isle studios, fallout 3 4 bethesda, fnv black isle studios again.

i did leave out f76 which for some reason you missed. that would bring main fallout games to 7 8. same as tes series with their online.

edit london is what, a fan made total overhaul? that's no official game release. if it bears name fallout it can't be commercially sold.
