Action horror is so much fun.

I enjoyed it, but I wish it was another IP instead of making it a Resident Evil game. It had so much potential to launch itself into its own seperated series. It felt more like a dark fantasy horror-action game.

Did you play RE4? It's more that than say, RE2....

I've played/beat every console game in the series besides that weird Battle Royale Umbrella corps they did. Re4 felt somewhat in the style of Resident Evil while being a weird plague hijacking a Spanish village. Re8 felt like a Horror fairytale and it could've been an entire new cast of characters instead of intertwining Chris/Umbrella into the mix

My only Gripe was the writing. Nothing really hooked me.

I felt this way about RE4 back in 2005.

Not as scary but I like it a little more than 7

You say that, but as I was being chased around by that abomination in the dark my fucking balls were in my throat.

daddy yummy.

The section is not that bad when you learn how the baby AI works. If you really a pussy you can just hide for 1-2 min(locker and then under bed) and the baby will straight up despawn.

They probably meant that it is a linear slog on repeat playthroughs, not that it is scary.

The puzzles are tedious and are the same every time, and there's zero action going on all throughout. Just about ten minutes of walking through hallways and interacting with objects.

Sherry's section in the RE2 remake is the same. Makes repeat playthroughs (and speedrunning in particular) a chore.

Can’t wait to hear stories of grown folk pooping their pants when playing that bit in PSVR2. Played VR7 in PSVR and couldn’t finish it in VR.

RE7 in VR is something every gamer should experience at least once.

I lasted 10 minutes and got the fuck outta there.

To be honest I played 7 when I was recovering from surgery and I had just gotten the series X. It was the first game to make me scream lol. And yes that scene was creepy as hell!

Village was okay, but I'm afraid Capcom's backsliding back into shooter territory again. I'm sick of the RE4 gameplay style and don't want the series to be about bombastic action and stupid setpiece battles.

I liked it but the writing was pretty bad, especially how all Chris had to do was tell you what was going on. He keeps information from you for no reason.

Yeah the writing in that aspect was horrible. How I’d fix this is have Mia do some crazy shit in the beginning while Chris is trying to kill her in the beginning then we fade in and out of consciousness as Chris is pulling us away then we wind up where we were after that. Then time Chris appears he says to Ethan a little about what happened but get cut off before he can finish. This by itself probably improves the story by a mile. Context and framing make a hell of a difference. I liked the lords a lot Ethan and Heisenberg‘s interactions were great

They were trying to make him out to be the antagonist, from the marketing etc.

After playing RE2 remake I would like to see them go back to 3rd person.

I know Village has dlc where it's 3rd person but I don't really care for dlc's.

Simple and to the point, I agree with the title. Would have wished to see Ethan’s character continue into the next game to give him a bit of a chance… but alas.

I think a lot of people started to think that RE series is more about horror than action after RE7 and I think it’s wrong

Yo_Wats_Good t1_j2fdtnv wrote

Yeah it started out pretty scary and tense but turned into 100% action.

Finished this last night too. It definitely had some Dark Fantasy stuff that I wasn't expecting... some Dark Souls Stuff going on & the COD stuff at the end was pretty fun too.

It was definitely different in tone to 7, but still a lot of fun.
