Regarding the AC games: That's a struggle all open world games have, though. You can either have an open world with stuff to do or you can have a tight but linear story. You can not have a densely filled open world and have EVERYTHING tie in to the main story. That just doesn't work.

In the Rpg world it should go to assassins creed. The amount of content that means absolutely nothing to the overall narrative is staggering. Valhalla is especially guilty of this.
