Sony have had tentacles in a lot of Devs and publishers from pre-xbox days, so negotiating exclusives is probably much easier for them

Some upcoming Xbox games look good. Starfield looks good and as long as Redfall can avoid becoming a cringefest like Borderlands it should be good too.

Your question reads like you think they both suck at exclusives

Because MS didn't invest enough money on their own gaming studios unlike Sony and Nintendo?

I think it’s because Sony have work with a lot of their major studios (ND, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, etc) and that gave them an idea of what those studios are capable of. So when they acquire those studios, they are giving more support from Sony because they know what they are capable of if that make sense. Also I think both Sony and Nintendo have an better grasp of what make a game great when compared to MS

Sony has more ongoing relationships with companies and a longer history. I do think MS had exclusives in older generations, Sony maximized their and MS let theirs wither. Fable 1 and 2 were amazing. Then 3 puked on the previous games and MS messed up Lionhead. Halo was great then fizzled out. Sony was on their game and kept the exclusives going strong. Now MS is buying up studios and backing them more. But game development is slow. And with covid it got slowerer which showed how far behind MS was with their development.

Because they are 3rd in the console space. They lost the console war so badly their main focus is now cloud gaming. That’s why Xbox cloud is built into some Samsung tvs too. And no, I’m not making anything up. It’s in the report for the ABK acquisition.
