Cyberpunk 2077. Played on launch day, hated it. Picked it up last week and it's a great game with some minor flaws.

The Witcher 3.

It is actually really, really good. The community is fucking unbearable though, seriously they need to play some other games sometime.

The Last of Us

Lost interest after about an hour, reinstalled months later and though I finished it, I thought it was just OK. Another run or two and I began to really like it, another two and I came to notice more and more and really appreciate it.

The Witcher 3

Quit before even getting out of White Orchard. Tried again, beat it, loved it. Have put at least two additional runs, not including some specifically for the expansions.

Horizon Zero Dawn.

The first time I played it, I was only a few hours in, right in the middle of playing when my brother was fired from his WFH job in a massive surprise layoff. We were already in a desperate financial situation due to me not finding work, so this was life-altering kind of bad during an already intensely stressful time. I finished the game with very little actual thought or attention solely for something to keep my brain too busy to panic, thought it was forgettable.

My therapist encouraged me to give it another chance a few months later after things were better and I had a blast with Horizon Forbidden West. Said I needed to rewrite the negative association of it and all that.

Replayed it, and it's one of my favorite games ever, up there with The Last of Us. Very glad I decided to give it another chance.

Witcher 3. Has the weirdest vibe to it in the beginning but I eventually came back to it.

Binding of Isaac. Actually gave it a third chance after it just wouldn’t click with me after twice trying to play it. The third time however… I must have played hundreds of hours by now. Such a great and simple game that just feels fresh every single round.

Dragon Age : Origins, when i first played i was not familiar with the slower combat system of old bioware games and i absolutely hated it, to the point that i dropped the game and went straight for DA2, which was admitedly a mistake, but after looking up a bit of DA:O videos i went back a 'forced myself' to learn the combat, became my favorite DA game after.

Brutal Legend! Bought it on xbox360 way back, played it for 15 minutes and hated it. I tried returning it to Gamestop but they laughed at me and told me to leave the store. I went home and tried it again, went on to absolutely love it and played through it multiple times.

The game also opened my eyes to a lot of music, Ozzy Osbourne - Mr. Crowley still sends shivers down my spine.

Minecraft - upon initially playing it, I just died repeatedly. Got discouraged and quit. My son encouraged me to try it again, and that was all it took. Now I'm a huge fan of modded MC, while he shows off his builds in vanilla.

Crackdown 3.

I came in very biased because of the famous Crowbcat video. It started with a cool cutscene, but then the graphics were mediocre, the movement was not that good in the first couple of minutes.

Months or a year later I checked it out once more and loved it. The upgrades for your movement, the particle effects, enemy and weapon variety, the layout of the island, and boss fights were entertaining and fun. I had a great time with it.

Path of Exile. I tried several years, and many updates ago. I just couldn't get into it.

Tried it again and am quite a fan now.

God of War 3 remastered. Never liked the look of any hack and slash game years ago and skipped over them. GoW 3 remastered was free on PS Plus and didn't even finish the intro battle. Ran out of games about two years later and slogged on through that part and it turned into one of the best games I've played. Gutted the originals are just that little bit out dated for me now but would love to go back in time and play em.

Not my favorite but Horizon Forbidden West dropped it after it came out picked it up again a few months later and dropped it again then picked it back up this month and finished it. Game is truly beautiful but I felt the story was not all that until the end

The multiplayer for The Last of Us. Played it on PS3 and hated it. Tried it again with the PS4 remaster at 60fps and it ended up being one of my favourite multiplayers of all time.

Project Zomboid for me.

First attempts at playing I'd just die constantly.

Now I'm building bases, farming crops, repairing vehicles and going on massive solo raids across the countryside with my big truck and trailer, in my search for cool weapons.

Still not found a katana, but have several sledgehammers now.

Not favorite but enjoyed Scarlet Nexus. Demo was meh developers made it too easy on purpose. On Hard enemies never touched hit me. Wasn't impressed. When game arrived on Gamepass and gave a go again and it didn't suck game was good. Hard didn't feel like Easy more like Normal.
