1 and 2. Probably not the most common take but a little more than two decades after I played my first GTA games, I've come to realize that I actually only truly like GTA as a "light" arcadey top down run 'n gun game with absolutely punishing difficulty.

Also I love GTA2's original retro cyberpunk setting.

I used to do MSN dial up tech support back in the day. We'd play pirated copies of GTA 1&2, and star craft between calls.
