Hey guys, i recently convinced my wife to try playing video games so we could play together. She has been playing Vampire Survivors mostly since it's very simple. She has trouble with games that require using both sticks to move/look and i was wondering if you guys had any ideas for games that either she would like similar to Vampire Survivors or easy games to help her learn how to use both sticks. We've tried playing Minecraft but she says it's boring and it doesn't keep her attention.

I don't know A Way Out, what's it about?

It's a coop adventure about a prison breakout. Tbf in terms of coop it's not as good as It Takes Two but still it's a pleasant experience imo. On Metacritic it's a 78/100.

Another option is Diablo 3 (also couch co-op) and play it on easy mode. The game is already pretty easy and playing on easy would take the pressure off your wife until she gets the hang of the controls.

I think they are perfect for beginners. She probably had a Lego toy or at least heard of it at one point of her life and they make games off famous brands, so it’s very likely that she is familiar with it and can recognize something. The games are very straightforward, no game over, no punishments for playing bad.

This may be a weird one, Slay the Spire. My wife doesn’t game much but enjoys regulars card games like poker. I sat down with her and taught her some basic stuff with the game and has been an avid enjoyer of it the last two years. If you want to play together there’s across the obelisk which has coop and plays similarly to spire.

For general stuff find parallels between her hobbies and games. Good luck have fun

I love that game. We both play Magic the Gathering so I'm pretty sure she'd like it too. I'll bring that one up to her.

Spider man, you can make it insanely easy and it’s still fun. It’s also simple(on ps4 atleast , not sure about other consoles)

Ori is a great game but may take a little while for her to get used to, the controls are difficult towards the end but it’s visually beautiful

Portal, portal 2 and power wash simulator are great games to learn how to use both sticks together.

Oh, man there are so many but it all depends on the system you're using, and what kind of games you like playing. I'll try to mention games that are fairly straightforward to start. I started out on fighting games as in general they are straightforward and usually multiplayer, and I don't require a lot of knowledge to play, you can just pick them up and play, and you just go from stage to stage. Street Fighter, Tekken, and Mortal Kombat all come to mind. Also, this depends on the system you have but old school games like Sonic The Hedgehog, Super Mario Brothers and some of the older Kirby's, are good places to start, if you have the proper system for those.Brawlers are also good, as it's beat up guys, go to the next stage, and is very straightforward and helps you learn a lot of basic things that almost all games do. Streets Of Rage and Death And Return Of Superman come to mind. There are also kid friendly games like Little Big Planet, Luigi's Mansion and Mario Cart which are great places to start, if you're looking for something less violent and more gamer friendly. I hope this list helped, I had fun writing it😬😬😬😬
