A bit of gaming backstory about me. Most of the time, I don't pick up consoles in it's early years, exceptions with the 3DS and Switch. I got a PSP 3000 in like 2011/2012, got a super-slim PS3 literally two months before the og PS4 launched, then got the PS4 Pro at it's launch. So far, we're getting very faint rumors about a "PS5 Pro/Slim" In terms of games, most games that's came out or is coming soon is also coming to PS4 and there's not too many games only on PS5 out/coming soon that i would get a PS5 just for them. I'm just not sure if I should get it while its currently in stock or wait for a potential better version (and I guess risk getting sold out quickly).

If you're not burning to play any of the available games, of which Ragnarok is really the most "unmissable" one, then wait. The PS5, like the PS3, is too big a console for its own good, I think.

The only revision that we're most likely getting is a console with removable/attachable external disc drive.

If we're talking a PS5 slim.. it could be that they just keep all as is, but change the form factor to a more basic design with a different take on the cooling.

PS5 pro.. won't happen anytime soon, the console is too expensive too make, so an upgraded console would be too expensive.

So essentially the question is: is it a good time to buy the PS5 now?
Yes.. the new models won't be significantly different and they for sure won't be a lot more powerful to a noticable degree.

The PS5 pro won't be here for 2 years and the so called revision with an optional drive.. well you can just get a PS5 disc right now.

Trade your ps4 for a ps5, I doubt they’ll have a pro version

Meh, I regret not buying an Xbox over my PS5. I luv my PS4 but I personally think the PS5 is the first console I’ve bought that actually taken a step back. I don’t play many video games these days so maybe it’s the game studios I should complain more about but all the games I’ve played so far have been super buggy, and slow or freezes all the time. Sad thing is I bought NBA2K23 on the PS4 with the upgrade version for PS5. No issues with PS4 but PS5 sucked so bad I gave up playing it. Oh well I guess I’ll just wait another 5-10 years on the next gen consoles to come out.

If you want to wait for the 'slim' with a removable disk drive, go ahead. If you want to wait for the pro, you'll be waiting until the ps6 comes out
