Weird ass decisions were made on all sides with this game. Whoever thought “yeah totally put it on Xbox but no online capability though. Give that to switch players. Everyone will love that” should straight up not work in this industry. Such a completely boneheaded and counterintuitive move.

My guess is that both MS and Nintendo had to come to an agreement if the game were to get released at all, and this is their compromise.

The only thing that makes sense to me is Nintendo said to do it this way or no one gets Goldeneye at all.

Nintendo probably saw it as taking away from their subs if they allowed it on a competing sub platform.

Idk for sure tho, just spitballing.
