Xenomorphs aren't as grotesque as Necromorphs. Scary yes but if you were to run into a xenomorph you could very easily survive. Necromorph you're dead and Markered

I do find the necromorphs a lot more scary looking than the Xenomorph
With Alien Isolation, it's more the fact that I'm actively being hunted down and I'm much more defenceless than Isaac in Dead Space
LordRevanofDarkness OP t1_j6oh8lb wrote
Not so defenseless. Necromorphs have no sense of self preservation. You hit them with fire and they keep coming. They're unstoppable killing machines. The Xenomorph runs if it's scared or hurt.

The point of the Xenomorph is that you can’t kill it. It’ll learn where you are and kill you if you use the same strategy over and over. What’s scary about it is that it adapts
PigeonMother t1_j6omtx5 wrote
Indeed. Over time they know to check the lockers etc

The Xenomorph will run if you use the flame thrower etc but it will come back. The key thing is that it can't be killed

This is why you are being downvoted.

I don't see why. Xenomorphs aren't immortal

Very easily though? I'd say if you go up against an Xenomorph and you are not an invincible videogame protag, you have over a 99% chance of dying. You mention the marker too. Aliens have eggs and there's a chance that if they ever reached Earth, our entire race could fall. They are not really a lesser threat, whether or not they like fire.
