Xbox probably. Super easy to use on a pc, most pc games are optimized for it, and can use any model from the 360 and up. If you want a better experience for newer games that support it than a dualsense is the way to go. Battery life sucks ass though

I'd suggest a preowned good condition xbox series s or newer controller, as it has Bluetooth so you wouldn't need to by a dongle if you wanted to use wireless. That said, an older xbox controller will also be sufficient if wireless isn't something that bothers OP.
Also if OP does decide to fork out lots, a xbox elite 2 controller has fantastic battery, I charge mine once every 4 or 5 days. It has around 35-40 hours of battery life, downside is the battery can't be changed, but I've yet to have issues with mine and its 2 years old. Bluetooth on those controller does chew battery a bit more, and some people have issues with that, but alas, swings and roundabouts lol

I don't know which shape I prefer but after using the dualsense controller, my series x controller is too loud and I don't like it. I recently switched for gyro aiming in some pc games and I dunno if I'll go back lol
I also have electrical tape placed over the xbox controller's power button cause it's too bright. The ps5 controller lights up but you can change the colour or choose the brightness. Much better Imo. The xbox controller shouldn't have that bright power button, surprised complaints about it aren't as common
