Was this in Illinois? There's a town there which had a huge population of albino squirrels, but recently the numbers have been shrinking from interbreeding.

I would get to HS a half hour early to go to the park nearby and see “my” albino squirrel lol. It was there almost everyday too!

Are you certain they are albino? I know they are described that way but I think they are leucistic (meaning an absence of all pigments, not just melanin).
