I don't know if people in this space buy gear totally based on aesthetics to the point of disregarding performance, but aesthetics still plays an important role. I think it's totally normal for aesthetics to play a significant role in buying decisions. You should buy something that makes you smile when you look at it.

I was going to buy a sundara but decided to spend an aditional 400 bucks of my local currency on the edition xs solely because i think the oval earcups look cooler lol

Meze 99 Classics look great and, imo, sound great.

As a relatively fresh owner I say the overlap of sound quality, looks and comfort is great.

I'm trying to prevent myself from buying a tube amp simply for the glow.

I just bought the SJY Starry Night, #15 on the website. It looks good IMO, I love the green on wood. I heard it was Neutral sounding. I've seen 2 reviews, one from ZEOS, and one from this reddit. Yeah lol, maybe its gonna be bad, but I think its gonna be good...hopefully...

I had a pair I just traded, extremely neutral and lacking a bit of bass for my taste but I fixed that with eq.

I upgraded from LCD3 to LCD-4 due to the look. They are awesome looking headphones and sound great too.

Just recently, I bought a Denon AH-D7200 just for the looks (and to have something based on the Foster design) but they turned out to sound incredible and are now one of my favorite headphones.

Yes, I bought qoa vesper cause I liked the looks more than any offering in the price point at the time (2 years ago)

And fr was for me a funny graph.

I didn't buy the make/model for that, but there was a special edition of the UltimateEars Head.Fi 3 buds that came in red only (I think only Radio Shack sold them, exclusive deal) and the metallic satin red was just so much prettier looking that I found a new-in-box pair after they were no longer available from vendor.

Sadly, UltimateEars was bought by Logitech; I don't know what happened after that. They're still around, but I think they've been eclipsed by others. Apparently they were one of the first to do custom-mold monitor buds, for people like Eddie Van Halen to use on stage.

Currently, I really want to buy KiwiEars Orchestra Lite purely on the basis of how they look.

They are one hell of an iem in Looks Department. But out of budget lol.

It’s the other way around. I’ve purchased for the sound despite how butt-ugly they are.

Yeah, im trying to prevent myself from buying an Audeze just because they look badass. I also really like Hifiman modern-minimalistic look.

Yep once. The AEON Closed Xs. I loved the way they looked so much I said fuck it and bought them. I hated the sound so much I returned them the next day. Honestly ever since I got introduced to open backs in 2020 I can't do closed backs anymore.

I bought blon a8 largely because I really like the design. They sound fine, although not as good as the tin t2. I haven't tried 03 so I can't compare it to those.
