if you’re listening at low volumes there’s probably nothing to worry about. do you feel disoriented? is your hearing muffled or distorted after listening? if the answer is no then like, don’t worry about it

nah, my hearings always clear afterwards, and disorientation only happens cause of the screen, not the sound! im making sure to just use them as low as i can, even if it'd be fine lol

ehhh you’re fine probably. hearing damage is almost exclusively based on decibel loudness level.

If anything, the bass boost is the thing that's going to cause hearing loss.

yea that's what i heard,, so does that mean if the bass slider is off, all should be good?? idk anything about any of this stuff lmao

On or off, just don't turn up the volume too loud. To much bass is bad because it makes a lot of air pressure inside the ear but that's also at high volume. Just don't listen to loud in general.

I think the Crushers have a "vibrator" type of bass boost which doesn't really increase volume, just makes you feel the bass more.

no one answered your second questikn so here i am

a lot of audiophiles would not recommend the 599 because of its “muddiness”, where the bass obscures or distorts the rest of the audio’s detail. the clarity, soundstage, highs and mids are not very good compared to other headphones in the price range

but based on what you said it seems like the 599 would be a good fit for you. you seem like you love bass over everything else, and the 599s would absolutely satisfy you in that regard. their detail and clarity is still really great, good enough that they’d blow someone away who hasn’t heard anything better than skullcandy. i think they’d be more than worth your money

it’s always cool to see someone just getting into high quality headphones. whichever headphones you go with i hope you enjoy them !

This post has been removed. Please note the following rule:

>Rule 2: Ask purchase help questions in the Shopping and Setup Help Desk found at https://reddit.com/r/headphones/about/sticky > >Requests for product opinions, comparisons, and general purchase advice must be made in the dedicated Shopping and Setup Help Desk found at /r/headphones/about/sticky instead of a new post.

You may also use r/headphoneadvice but please search their resources and familiarize yourself with their rules first before posting.

What questions are considered purchase advice?

  • A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.

  • Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.

  • Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").

Why does this rule even exist?

What if the link doesn't work?

  • The post can usually be found on the top r/headphones, and titled Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk.
