It never worked so far with my OTG type c to lightning cable, so I was using the camera kit. Now I realized they changed the text on their help page https://www.qudelix.com/blogs/5k-dac-amp/usb-dac. Now it also includes otg cables and not only the camera adapter in the text. I was trying it and it worked like a charm! They are such a nice company, constantly improving their product and adding features.

That problem is on apple. They're the ones who want to have their own proprietary connector, they're the ones creating problems for everyone who doesn't buy their brand.

Yeah that sucks but it’s still nice that you can use the Qudelix with one cable less now it seems :) Or rather with any OTG cable and it’s not hit or miss anymore, maybe…

I love the Apple hate on a headphone sub. Gotta get your hate out somewhere I guess.

On that note, I got a free iPhone 13 for work and I don't like it at all. They even screwed up the calculator. Like, how do you fuck up something that simple

I use the Qudelix 5K and an iPhone 13Pro with the lightning to usbc cable from Cayin that’s meant for the RU6. No camera cable.

I also have part of a MagSafe sticker stuck to the 5K so it sticks to the back of my phone. I use this setup every single day.

I just use Velcro to stick the Qudelix to the back of my phone

I use a MagSafe case and didn’t want to attach a piece of Velcro to my phone.

This is a very clever idea re MagSafe sticker- have another DAC/AMP which I may well do the same for.

I did it with a Topping NX4DSD as well.

I recommend the MeeNova OTG cable. Works on my 5K and BTR 5 DAC’s.

Yup, always make sure to use OTG cables (allows for data transfer) with dongles. Some of us still have those micro-USB phones/devices and so we can forget that it's a requirement and another point of incompatibility if it's somehow not implemented properly.

This thread link talks about the Qudelix 5K, AptX Adaptive dongles, and specifically Apple devices: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/zc1znn/qudelix_5k_arent_these_issues_a_big_issue/iyuh35j/

If you want an open device and third party accessories go Anroid, they have much better software and for phones more than good enough hardware, also a much wider variety on aspect ratios, features etc...

I like using iPhones and Apple Music. I just wanted to put it out for some other fellow Apple user.

Dunno, loosing my headphone jack, AdBlock and sponsorblock on the YouTube app would be too much to give up for me, apple could fix soang things by opening up their ecosystem

I don‘t want to make a case for iPhone here. Everyone should use what they feel like.
