Submitted by I_the_Lesser t3_11u1f7q in headphones

Is anybody aware of a place or person I could send in a set of headphones for what I think should be a simple repair? I have an old relatively budget friendly set of headphones that holds some sentimental value to me that I damaged trying to do a mod on a while back. I’d rather have them repaired then replaced.

Cheers

Well, that highly depends on what headphones you have and where you're located. It doesn't make sense to ship them halfway across the world. It's usually best to find someone local unless you need specialized skills for your particular headphone. It's going to be hard to recommend someone without any information, but I'd say a friend of a friend who can solder and is willing to do it for a small payment + coffee or something is probably your best bet.

Thanks, I appreciate you reaching out. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find anybody local. This Reddit.

You can start by asking your local audio store or electronic repair workshop.
It's not a difficult job really.
Unless it's a tiny IEM or has a very difficult design to repair.

Thanks, I’ve tried contact the few local electrics repair places I have near by. Unfortunately no dice. I appreciate you though.

I’m located in South Dakota in the US. I tried converting an old set of of cabled m50’s to a detachable 3.5mm jack. Turns out I’m pretty bad at soldering.
