This is just a starting point to make my otherwise great sounding hifiman edition xs fit better, I think it helps a bit with the clamping issue too. I believe it helps because it is up about an inch on the sides of my head where the face gets wider. I also think the foam going down as far as it does helps with the weak clamping issue. Just have to keep experimenting to find a permanent solution. Any ideas on how to make it better?

Dekoni Audio Nuggets or Geekria Hook and Loop Headband Cover + Headband Pad Set.

Thank you, I will look into that. I was going to get the Dekoni elite (I think), cost quite a bit, but I hear it really makes a difference. I will definitely check out the headband cover and pad. Thanks again.

Just ordered the Geekria .. Thank you. Now I will be styling.

I got the same headband cover for my edition xs. I don’t mine the look of it since it only sits on my desk. You can see in my post on how it looks with it on.

I did the same thing! They were just too big for my head, or my ears are up too high. Probably my ears.

Ah Dekoni Audio nuggets, lol, I apologize, I thought you meant the ear pads. They actually look good too.

Do you find it helps with the clamping? I hear you too, mine are just inside too.

The headphones are huuge.. lol Did you find they fit tighter after?

Well that looks comfy.

The headband helped with some clamping. I remember the headphone falling of easily without the band.

I made a pad similar to yours out of a bandana and foam LINK HERE

I saw that.. darn good idea. How do you like the meze?

If you don't like the feel of the zip ties maybe adhere the foam with double sided tape.
Otherwise you can experiment with different fabrics to wrap around the band to help with comfort, add extra cushioning and extra dimension for the right fit.
Then you can seal by sewing it in place or creating a tube of fabric which has drawstrings on each end to help secure it in place.

That is a darn good idea. I was thinking velcro, but I think double sided tape and then black fabric would be a lot better. Thank you, it is great belonging to this group.. you all are awesome. I am learning so much. You guys gave me an idea, I had black wristbands, covered it up nicely..

The meze was super impressive with separation, the likes I've never heard from any set. Just a bit too detailed for me.

As someone who ripped and ruined the pleather layer of the cushioning on my old headphones, I would advise against any sort of tape usage. Velcro, on the other hand, seems like a better idea.

Sorry to hear about your headphones.

I would suggest bending the metal arms inwards. Don't bend the top of the headband, extend them out and bend in the arms only. This increases clamp force.
I also have a headband cover similar to the Geekria, this helps a bit too by increasing the contact area but the bending was the larger effect.
Before they were ridiculously loose, now they are secure and very comfortable.
Rough-Tangelo-2091 OP t1_jdqe7mn wrote
Thank you, I just might try that.

I use audiophile grade zips, but I guess I just appreciate music more.
