Anyone Sennheiser customer service and quality control going down the drain?

I have the following Sennheiser products:

  • HD800S
  • HD660S
  • IE80
  • IE80S BT

I was able to replace the IE80 cable multiple times through warranty with no problem. Around March 1st 2022, Sennheiser was transferred from Demant to Sonova. I've been unable to get a warranty response so asked my fiancee, who works with Demant, to get Sonova contact info.

Even with direct contact info, I still can't get a warranty response lol

Googling has shown quality control issues as I look for solutions to this. Is anyone running into the same problem?

I'm obviously a Sennheiser fan.....but god damn am I feeling like I should've bought other stuff lol. Really hope none of my other Sennheiser stuff need warranty...ever.

Sennheiser & AKG brands both went downhill fast the last five years.

The HD800s & K812 will probably be their last two truly great flagship offerings.

I always had Sennheiser held at the highest quality possible.

I'm still surprised they cheaped out on the HD600's design and box too, that change was so unnecessary. Sennheiser HD6x0 lineup is already quite plasticky for the price in my opinion.

I guess everything for a nickel with their management nowadays, but they are starting to degrade the company's reputation this way.

I don't think the plastic matters much since it's quite durable and has quite literally stood the test of time. Durable lightweight and probably easier to produce if I had to guess. Don't care if a headphone is plastic or metal once it's sitting on my head as long as it's durable.

I returned a product a little under a month ago, they've received it but still have not received a refund or any information. There seems to be no phone number to call on the website either.

Really not sure what is going on over there.

From my experience at least, the problem with plastic is it tends to get brittle with age. My old HD600 failed when one of the plastic pieces that hold the drivers in the cups cracked when I was swapping the cable - wasn't applying any kind of extraordinary force or anything. That said, if making them more durable would double the cost or something, I'd rather just get another set of cheaper headphones.
