I no longer recommend Tidal due to the MQA issues, despite all the lies and cover ups about its definition as lossless it’s still really bad for the music industry, I stream on Qobuz or Apple Music and use bandcamp for discovery and I’m slowly building a library of albums I purchase directly from bandcamp in FLAC, (if we don’t support the artists outside of the streaming services music will just become entirely owned by Apple or Amazon eventually)

You need to find a genre or two that you’re into and explore from there, all genres have really well recorded and mastered tracks that can be considered “Audiophile” the K712 excel at soundstage if you’re looking to wow your friends and family find some songs with great soundstage, but, as mentioned before, don’t worry about justifying your purchase, the entire point of headphones is only one person enjoys them!!!

Also don’t get too hung up on listening to your gear and forget to enjoy the music. If you focus entirely on the gear it’s an endless chain of upgrades and side grades, listen to your gear for a long time before deciding what you like and what you’re missing (if anything) before auditioning new kit. Listening to and enjoying music is a fairly cheap hobby once you have a nice set of cans like yours and some music (lots of fantastic free FLAC on bandcamp and some albums cost pennies, look up “Macroblank” and “Haircuts for Men” if you like downtempo/ ambient, I bought both the discography for less than $10 but you can choose what you pay)
