Focal Clear Mg are currently $1,199 at Crutchfield

They are also on sale at Amazon:

The Focal Clear Mg Pro are on sale at Amazon for the same price:

Beware, chances are Focal won't honor warranty claims for headphones bought from non-authorized resellers so proceed with caution when buying from non-authorized resellers on Amazon. See link below for more information:

>From our own factual investigations, we have experienced time and again the unauthorized sales of our products by both Amazon directly, as well as a number of Amazon marketplace sellers. With the exception of the three Authorized Retailers listed in this section, Focal America cannot and will not support products purchased from Amazon or Amazon marketplace.

I'm posting this here instead of the megathread (https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/z17o9z/black_friday_cyber_monday_megathread_2022/) so folks could have more room to have a back-and-forth and ask questions from current owners of the gears, and ruminate about buying either headphones.

This post should be required reading for anyone considering a higher end Focal headphone.

Good info on warranty. Crutchfield is an authorized dealer, which would make better sense to purchase from them for the same price.

They are also $1,199 at headphones.com which is a Focal dealer.

Personally, I'd take the OG Clear for $839, I'd take it even if they were the same price though. And did. The OG Clear certainly isn't too bright, but they went and made the Clear MG darker.

Seems like my comments aren't popular with Focal fans... Hey, it's their money.

As for why I used Sennheiser and not Beyer, it's because Beyers are already known for good build quality and repairability, while Sennheiser's plasticky-ness are often seen as a con, but still does not affect their durability. I use Sennheiser as an example of good plastic use, unlike Focal.

is it worth getting a dac/amp for the MG? i know they’re efficient enough to be ran out of anything but i guess i have the urge to splurge

Definitely recommended. There was some guy I saw online saying that they can’t hear much of a sound quality difference between a Momentum 3 and the Focal Elex and he was using an external amp without a dac. It’s recommended that you use an external amp/dac to get the most out of most high end headphone.

I had the OG professionals and they came with an extra pair luckily. Had them over three years and still don’t need to change them, but admittedly the Stellia is my daily since this Summer.
