Only had them less than a week. Absolutely loved them. Basically, the right driver was making rattling noises at low bass frequencies. I saw on most forums is that there may be a hair on or near the driver. I did take the pads and the grill apart and did an inspection, no hairs or dust to be found but still cleaned them anyway, still no luck.

Now I have returned them I decided to buy the Sennheiser Hd600 as they were £10 more with a discount. Similar sound to the 6XXs but heard the mids are more detailed. Anyway they should arrive on Wednesday.

Ah well.. Both of these are so close in performance, I'm sure you will have a great time (if you remember then please tell me how you like them :) curious to hear about it as someone who loves the HD6XX)

That's the general consensus on here and other forums. I was so gutted they were defective. Actually preferred them to my Sundaras

I can imagine.. I imported my 6XX for quite a bit above what they cost now but I adore them and they were still worth it.

Like for me there is no need to get something else.. Except for ZMF cans, these are like a goal that's far away I'm saving up for. They look amazing.

I do love my zmf's. They look amazing but it's also like putting little fluffy clouds on my ears. They are extraordinarily comfortable, I also picked mine up on here 2nd hand so keep your eyes peeled!

Does the warranty still apply when getting them used?

I'll be honest I'm not sure. I have all of the original paperwork and tech sheet with it. I would probably have to email them and check but that's a good call.

I hope you still have it :) pretty sure it will be fine.

I still have no idea which ZMF to save up for. Living in Europe make the decision even harder since Atriums cost 3k and more here. Customs fees and even some taxes on top and suddenly you're paying 500$ more :/

Why not just exchange then?

I got them from a seller on eBay

That’s a good reason!

If I got them from a retailer then I'd definitely get them exchanged. I bought the Hd600 from the a reputable retailer, so if they're any issues I can exchange them

Had it several times. The hair was always stuck in the foam pad

HD600 is more neutral and don't have the added warmth and fullness of the HD6XX. Very similar though, but still splits people a lot. I highly suggest trying EQ (Oratory1990's preset) as, imo, that makes them so much better that it's ridiculous.

It's annoying that no reputable retailer stocks the 6XX in the UK. Had to resort getting mine from Ebay, still sealed though. This is the reason this time around I got the Hd600 a sit was £10 more and £100 less than the HD650 and 660

6XX is a Drop product so no one else will have it. They're also getting these deals to push US sales and some of their versions of headphones by EU manufacturers can't even be shipped to Europe by Drop. Tricky business, literally.

Seems like you guys have decent deals on headphones too.

With that much time in between listening you probably won't even be able to tell a difference.

They are very close.
