I just got mine! I ordered at Linsoul (11-11 special offer) and am quite amazed they're already here. What I didn't like was the bubble wrap they were delivered in. Careless handling led to a (very) slight dent in the box. Nothing to be worries about, but if I was a collector, that'd be an issue for me.

While I wanted to be hyped, I was careful not to be as I felt quite disappointed by the 7Hz Timeless I got just yesterday. Let me also add that I deliberately decided against the "Dusk" (with a bass-bump) because I prefer it neutral.

The most special thing about the unboxing was the case. I am pretty sure it's not leather, but it feels like it and smells like a new car. It also has enough room to accomodate the IEMs, cable and all the earpieces. "Looking back" this was already foreshadowing of the qualities of the Blessing 2.

The rest was as expected : good cable (without slider, meh, but you can fix that with the velcro-strap that comes with it), enough earpieces, but sadly not the spring-tips (they don't fit). The Blessing 2s themselves look high-quality but without much fluff. Yes, you can have them with different engravings and in different colors, but I wanted them to be "clean".

The Sound

So of course I immediately sat down to listen and at first heard.... nothing. No, they were not broken, but the Blessings 2 delivered the music so neutrally and effortlessly that only with a bit of jumping around between my "regular songs" and genres I was able to spot a slight bump in the lower and upper mids, benefiting male and female vocals. If I had to find an analogy it would be watching a master carpenter at work. Everything would seem so easy, as it should be - but you know exactly that this comes from maybe decades of experience.

So. Erm... yeah. That's... uh, basically it.

I could go on and tell you about the resolution and "musicality" or whatever words are supposed to be used to describe a humble masterpiece whose main achievement it is to do what it's supposed to do without much fuzz and is pretty close to perfection. Sure, you can EQ them to sound even more neutral or "fun" or whatever , but for the first time I ask myself : why should I even?

The Blessing 2 are nothing to be totally excited and hyped about. They are something to be content with and enjoy, not even feeling the need for anything else.

Final verdict :

The hype is justified (yeah, I know I just said the opposite!), the Moondrop Blessing 2 are my absolute favorite IEMs so far. Are they worth the money? To me, they are. Sure, they Aria Snow Edition (yes, I am a Moondrop fanboy) get 90% close for a quarter of the money, but 300-ish USD is still a bargain for the quality the Blessing 2 deliver. I listened to really bad IEMs which cost more than double.

Well it's Diffuse Tuned so of course it will lack enough bass elevation for your tastes... The Blessing 2 is to IEMs what the HD600 and Sundara are to the overears

No, no - I prefer the neutrality, this is EXACTLY what I wanted. I can't see me complain anywhere :-)

Well, that sounds very much like the Blessings 2 to me.

This is exactly how I felt about the Focal Clear.

Put that thing on and was like “yep, this is undoubtedly the most technically proficient and highest resolution experience I’ve ever had”.

It was also undoubtedly one of the most boring ones. Absolutely nothing sounding exciting or fun to me, it was like staring at a picture taken with a camera at the highest resolution possible.

Sure I can appreciate all the details, but it’s still boring to look at imo.

For me, that is what I'm after. - If I want excitement, I listen to exciting music :-) But I get where you're coming from. I sorta have this experience with the 7Hz Timeless after applying an EQ. Sounds detailed, but dead and synthetic. Not with the Blessing 2 though, those still sound alive, but subtle.

Absolutely, different strokes and all, and it honestly took me a while to be sure I just wasn’t enjoying them.

My brain felt broken with the disconnect between how incredible they obviously are as headphones and how little I enjoyed having them on my head lol

I'd be interested to know if you continue to enjoy it over the next few weeks and I hope that you do. I bought a similarly priced IEM a while ago and was very pleased with it, thought it sounded great. I used it daily for about a week then felt less and less like using it. I try it occasionally to try and identify what it is that makes it so boring, it remains a mystery. I had the same reaction to the Etymotic er2xr, sounds good but I get nothing out of listening to my favorite stuff with it.

If I remember, I'll let you know. So far my biggest issue is the cable which gets somewhat uncomfortable around my ears after two hours. So at least for the moment, they're going strong.

My ear holes are unfortunately a bit too small to run the blessings full time.

The vocals lack body for me. Bass is also not satisfying. But for the price I am very happy

Maybe you find someone to trade your Blessing 2 for their Blessing 2 Dusk?

I am fine with it. There are some genres that work well with it. My next step is likely the variations

Did you read the review? The review is what is boring because there's not much to say. The Blessing 2 are my favorite IEMs now, I am very happy now. Couldn't be further from complaining :-)
