That’s the opposite of an unpopular opinion.

You could be right. I’m just impressed with what I’m hearing and think they are a pretty big improvement from the 1st gen.

I’ve personally seen nothing but near universal praise for how good the new Pros sound.

Ok. Maybe I didn’t look around enough. This sub seems to mostly be about wired full size headphones or budget wired IEMs and hadn’t noticed too many posts about the new pros.

I’m home sitting on the couch using my AirPods Pro 2 when I could be using my Etymotic ER4SR, or my Focal Elear with Clear pads. I’m not saying the new Pros are up to par with either, but I’m impressed with them regardless, and they have a fun but clear sound to them.

To me true wireless stuff is meant for when I’m out of the house, like out grocery shopping or something. But here I am enjoying them at home on the couch.

Unpopular? You must be living under a rock then... They're a well received TWS

I think there's still the sentiment that the airpods are generally overpriced for what they do, but I don't think many people are calling it bad. I think it's easy to hate the airpods due to them being beyond "mainstream", but measurements of both the airpods pro have shown surprisingly good tuning. I suppose with the ungodly market share the airpods have, you can't really be selling lemons at that point.

The price can still be a problem. I got them on sale for $199, and I traded my old ones in and got $55 for them. So I only really paid $144. Not sure I would have spent $250 on them though.

I just got a pair for my wife since she was going on a long trip. She got back last weekend so I got a chance to try them out the other day for a while. If they were all I had, I'd think they were great. They definitely sound good. My normal commute in ears are Shure Aonic 4. The Air Pods lose easily to them. I do like the convenience of the Air Pods, though. The spatial sound thing is "neat" but the sound quality takes a pretty big hit. It feels gimmicky. I had been considering getting a pair for myself since they are on sale but, after comparing them, I decided against it.

Sometimes I wish I was able to just have something like the AirPods Pro 2’s and just be happy. When you said “if they were all I had, I’d think they were great” I sometimes wish I was more Audio ignorant. “Ignorance is bliss”, and it would be nice and super convenient to be able to be 100% happy with the convenience of true wireless.

Sometimes even just sitting still on the couch wires are annoying.

I’ve heard litterally nothing super negative about these so far, except for the usual “everything apple does is an affront to my life” people

Pretty sure it was just the non Pro Airpods getting ripped on for sounding bad because they aren't iems.
