Empyreans I bought just over a year ago. Nearly perfect in my eyes in almost all regards, super clear effortless sound, tight bass (some reviews say a bit too much, which is understandable, but it doesn’t overstep its boundaries), really solid build as well.

Ive been running them off an old Fisher rs-1035 amp that i should probably upgrade from, and a little schit dac.

I’ve been mad curious about the Empyrean and I almost bought a pair but I went with the Atrium instead. I’ve been wondering “what if” ever since.

If it sounds good to you then why change. Love my Empys, never put cat ears on them though. I do wish I had the copper sides rather than the black, yours look awesome especially with the matching cable.

Nah. As someone who owns both (which my wallet did not appreciate), the black is a better overall colorway. The copper is a little too bling-y in person, imo.

I feel like the original gunmetal would be perfect, but haven’t gotten my hands on one yet.

I had the original gunmetal ones first but they had terrible planar crinkle and went back. I much prefer the darker black, it is also harder wearing.

I do. And, I must say, having 2 is a bit overkill. But they’re my babies and I love them 😍

Those years of putting the aux in and out of my headphones will finally pay off
