lol. On a positive note, the paint didn’t chip on my unit at all. Some people blame me for wearing these 30 min after the shower but I always dry my ears and my other IEMs never had similar issues. If this led to the glue dissolve, I‘m pretty sure people living in areas with high humidity experience this problem too. Or people who do work outs with these.

I'm failing to see the correlation between a shower and filters falling out. It's not like you wore them in the shower. I guess it's possible that moisture could damage something but, wearing them once 30 minutes after a shower should not even dissolve the shittiest of shit tier glue.
I realize these are an ultra budget option. But it's not like what separates the Chu from the Blessing is superior adhesives. Just seems more plausible that something else was wrong here.

Yeah you‘re right, it was probably just a coincidence. If there was a small ledge beneath the filters, that would’ve helped though

Might wanna give the Quarks DSP or 7Hz Zero a go instead if you want a new pair.
therealPaulPlay OP t1_iybrfxu wrote
Yes 7hz Zero is really good I suppose but I bought the Truthear x Crinacle Zero. After the chus I wanted something with more bass ;) I‘ve been using the Chus with a 4db bass boost on my amp (for some tracks, not for others as it makes vocals less realistic)

On the bright side, they didn’t fall off in your ears!
therealPaulPlay OP t1_iybru3s wrote
Sometimes they did ;) These ear hooks are terrible, I stopped using them… with only the cables it’s fine for the most part

Well on the bright side you got some springtips out of the deal. Zeros should serve you well.
therealPaulPlay OP t1_iy8xcj0 wrote
Now I orderer Truthear x Crinacle Zeros. This was my final push to do it… the chus sound a bit more piercing now, but still work fine but I assume that dust and other particles will get into the IEMs through the nasal now. Can‘t recommend buying the Chus now anymore, they only held up for 5 months. My ears weren’t really wet, just a little bit moist. Still, the adhesive dissolved :(

Welp I‘ve already bought them but let‘s see how they are. I just recently listened to Etymotic Er2se and the clarity is great, you can hear some extra instruments compared to the Chu and the soundstage is maybe 10cm wider but I want something more engaging and less clinical (er2se on tubes with 6db bass boost? (joke)

What about the er2xr?
therealPaulPlay OP t1_iyd6l48 wrote
I‘d have bought it but the cheapest offer is 216€ in my country, I got the SE for my mom for 80 ish so that’s just way too much.

new filters are like 5 dollars and free shipping on shenzhenaudio if you wanna try
therealPaulPlay OP t1_iybssrk wrote
Thats a great deal but I‘m not sure wether shipping inside of europe is free too, probably not…
xyrlor t1_iyc0q6e wrote
I’m in Germany and it was free. Not sure about import tax, vat, etc though. I also ordered during Black Friday so that might have changed by now
therealPaulPlay OP t1_iyc4535 wrote
I‘m from austria so that would prob be free for me as well :) But now I‘ve ordered the Zero‘s and I‘m not sure wether it’s easy to replace the filters / how long they‘d hold up
Sebetter t1_iy9dht1 wrote
They’re not meant to be used in the shower my dude.
Moondrop doesn’t rate them to do that. There are few IEMs that can do this. If you do this with your new IEMs when they arrive, those new IEMs will also break quickly.
At least you learned a lesson on a cheap set of IEMs.
therealPaulPlay OP t1_iy9gozf wrote
Read again... after showering. By that I mean, half an our after that. Obviously I don't listen to music with my IEMs while being in the shower xD My ears were barely damp, I couldn't feel any moisture on the IEMs.
Sebetter t1_iya395j wrote
Ah my bad.
Perhaps coincidence that this happened after you showered? The filters on my moondrop Starfields used to be finicky and I’d have to replace them every so often as they’d dislodge.
You can order replacement filters for these from places like linsoul audio, but for the CHUs it’s not really worth the hassle.
therealPaulPlay OP t1_iybrcvl wrote
Yeah could be. I‘ve noticed one side getting quieter on the Chus a while ago, now that the filters are gone they sound equally loud again. Shipping cost for new filters would prob be rather high if they‘re coming from china. I ordered the Truthear x Crinacle Zero, I hope that will last for longer :)

You need to the remove excess water using a small sponge. 30 minutes is not enough.
therealPaulPlay OP t1_iy9r1zc wrote
I always just use my towel for that. I‘ve been using a cheap KZ IEM for 2 years and never had such issue.

Oof all these Chu stans are spitting mad, pulling at their non-detachable cables and downvoting. Careful guys, you'll chip the paint
