First off, earbuds do not work for me. They don't stay in my ear if I am sitting still, let alone training for a sport. I think the opening of my ears must be a weird shape or something.

I am looking for wraparound bluetooth sport headphones.

I have a cheap $20 pair that works pretty well, but I set my iPhone down on the track (or by a basketball hoop / soccer goal) and my current pair drops out of range when I'm like 20 ft away from my phone.

Is the limiting factor my phone? Or the headphones? Or both? I honestly don't know.

Does anyone know of a bluetooth headphones that have a longer range connection, and can work up to like 100 or 200 feet away from a phone?

Idk an answer to your question, but Iems with a triple or biflanged tip might be another option

The whole thing goes in your ear

They will never fall out, but you won't be able to hear

I appreciate you looking out, and I hope this helps someone else if they read.

I guarantee tho, nothing stays in my ears ever.

Those are not ideal if he plans on running with them as he will hear every thump of his feet. I recommend ear hook style earbuds like the powerbeat pros as they rest on the ear but still provide decent enough isolation.

Bluetooth only has a range of about 30ft with good line of sight. Only thing I can think of is using a smart watch that you pair your headphones to and use that instead of being connected to your phone.

Wow, that is a HUGE bummer! I completely didn't know that.

Fuck, I gotta figure out a totally different solution, I guess.

You want :

  1. The cheapest Apple Watch you can buy with your songs downloaded to the watch/ a data plan on the watch with Spotify.
  2. Power beats pro or any earbud equivalent with hooks on them so the don’t fall out during work outs.

I use this setup for 2 mile runs and gym workouts and they have never failed me yet.

Thanks for the advice. I might need to get an apple watch; that sounds like a good solution for me.

On #1, do you happen to know if it is possible to play Spotify from iPhone->Cheapo SmartWatch->Bluetooth

Or is my 3-step idea not something that happens?

Like is it just iPhone->Bluetooth / OR / SmartWatch->Bluetooth

(I have zero experience with smart watches, so that might be a dumb question).

No because that was an example. You want the watch to be the source for the music only. You can wear it anywhere without worrying about a phone.

When I was in the US I had a data plan with my watch so I could stream music without a phone with the watch only.

Looking more into it you can use a Fitbit 5 add music to it and sync the Fitbit to your wireless earbud of choice.

Koss KSC75 has a wraparound Bluetooth model, seems to be what you’re looking for

Edit: did not see you needed them to stay connected 100 ft. That may not be your best option then
