Sidegrading to the 6XX isn't worthwhile in my opinion, 580s are great as is so it'd be better just going for a straight upgrade or sticking with them.

I feel ya, my friend. I spent last new year in isolation. Plenty of food and water and you'll be right in no time. I couldn't bare headphones because of horrendous ringing in my ears when I had Covid. Feel better mate, and hope the new year gets much better for you.

I went and got Covid right before the new year and I’m isolated in my bedroom. Luckily my Xduoo MT-502 just showed up so I can chill out with some David Bowie in my convalescence bed.
I flipped out my Schiit Magni which was having some channel imbalance problems for the Xduoo MT-602 to try out some tubes. I have some GE JAN 5654W tubes in the way. My Schiit Modi DAC and Loki equalizer feeds the amp with a WiiM Mini as the source. Fantastic cheap steamer.
The headphones are my 20 year old Sennheiser 580s with new pads. I keep pondering upgrading to some Sennheiser 6xxs but the 580s still sound awesome.
