Like this one. I was surprised to see they're still being made, I thought it was a relic from the 2000s past because I don't tend to see them. So that's gotten me curious about if this form factor is any good and useful in certain situations? Because it looks like they don't go into the ear canal, it will probably be similar to earbuds? Any reason to consider these over regular on-ear and in-ear?

I think the only reason people consider clip-ons is because of koss ksc75, if it wasn't clip-on then I think they would be pretty much out of the conversation

The Koss KSC75 / 75X are the go-to for this style if that's what you want, they're stupid good for the cheap price. A lot of us have modded headbands on them, but they're fine with the clip on as well, if you find it comfortable.

But how do they compare to in-ear and on-ear headphones? Clip ons aren't one I've ever used so have no idea how comfortable they are.

Comfort is going to depend entirely on your specific ear structure. I found them perfectly comfortable. I wear glasses if that matters.

With how popular these are and virtually never hearing complaints about them, I think you'll be fine.

Interesting. Why is it more comfortable compared to the other forms?

Open ear and no head squeezing. You can adjust the clips on them (bend the wires) so that they barely touch and basically just float

Depends. I wore Elecom EHP-810WH for years until the pads and cable disintegrated. They sounded great and were comfortable to wear. The even better thing was that you could plug the cable into either side and it used a plain 3.5 mm cable.

Too bad they sounded like this: http://www.elecom.co.jp/news/200506/ehp-810/image/graph_L.jpg

I like how they're measuring 40kHz

They are great for sports like running but besides that they don't offer much of an advantage. Unless you like the fit more than the above mentioned.

I had Panasonic RP_HZ47 that were kickass, but it was 11 years ago. Can't tell you shit about the sound signature, but I remember they were great for electric guitars

The only clip ons I'd get are KSC75. They're not good for the price ($20), they're just plain good!

Ksc75 have a life time warranty too. Definitely want the head band mod, much more pressure on the ears. I find the clip too flimsy and better sound quality with the pressure from head band as well
