Tl;Dr, I ordered WAVS customs weeks ago and they have taken my money and disappeared off the planet. Are they just a scam?

Hi everyone,

I've seen a few posts on Reddit asking about WAVS customs over the years but very few people saying they have purchased a set. Having seen some positive reviews from the Worship Tutorials guys on YouTube and a few other streamers I decided to bite the bullet and buy myself a pair during the black Friday sales.

I ordered the quad balanced armature set and the wireless attachments at what I thought was a very good discount - just over $520AUD.

When I got to the order confirmed page I immediately noticed my address seemed to have gone in incorrectly so I decided to email the company straight away just to confirm they had the correct address. I heard nothing.

I waited a few days and emailed again to inform them that while I did receive the automated "order confirmed" email, I had not yet received the instructions on how to scan my ears. Still no response.

I waited another week and sent another email, this time to the email address that was advertised on their website, as it was different to the one on my order confirmation, asking what was going on with my order and if I could have an answer to my previous questions. No response.

We are now 3 weeks on and while they have my $520+, nobody can even respond to say "yes, we have your order but we are super backed up and it will be a while." I have no problem waiting. When I ordered them I assumed I wouldn't see them before January. I do have a problem with non existent customer service.

Does anyone have experience with these guys? Are they just a scam? I'm considering just calling my bank and trying to get the charge reversed and pulling the plug on these things altogether. That would be a real shame because bang for buck they seemed like a great option.

I ordered some about a year and a half ago and can confirm that the company exists and they did send me some in ear monitors. At that time customer service was pretty responsive but it wasn't Christmas time so they may have been less busy.

I ordered mine back in late July (traditional fit) and still waiting on a set that both works and fits. They were responsive to emails at first concerning getting scans but ran into issues sending my scans when my emails were going into their spam folder. Will be sure to post a full review of my experience once I get them. They're a 2 person operation so you'll get the product eventually, but I'm not sure it's been worth the wait.

I can't comment on the customer service issue you're experiencing, but they are legit.

I ordered the 5x models a few months ago, and they came pretty quickly.

Update: I used the chat function on the website to get into contact with them and they responded to that pretty quickly the first time. Unfortunately all they said was that they had my order, and could they help me? When I responded (within 20 minutes) to say I haven't received my email with scanning instructions and I also needed them to amend the address on my order, it took them a week to respond to that and it was only because I got onto their live chat again to follow up.

I finally got my email with scanning link and instructions the other day, but they still haven't confirmed my order address.

They told me they've been emailing me and to check my spam folder, but my email address is on a private domain name, and I don't have a spam folder. Anything that gets sent to me goes to my inbox (suspect emails have spam in front of the subject).

It seems like something is actually happening with my order now, but it's been a frustrating experience so far namely because after paying so much money I've had little to no indication that they have even been doing anything. Just an email to say please be patient, our waiting list is currently X months long, would have appeased me.
