I have forever suffered from not having IEMs or earphones stay in my ears. I just thought I was doomed to not really enjoying IEMs. I decided, after doing lots of reading, to try some aftermarket tips before giving up. I tried the spiral dots ++ in ML and to my great surprise, these fit nearly perfectly.

I have had to adjust my tips about once an hour and will probably go up to the L for my right ear. This is in comparison to adjusting them every 5-10 minutes. I even just had some lunch with these, and they are still glued in there. I have tried them on my galaxy buds and on my u12t's and they are both working perfectly. The soundstage even seems slightly wider to me, subjectively.

This seems like such a no brainer for $30. Trust me, you will enjoy your music so much more when you can just focus on that alone and not fiddling with your damn IEMs.

I was in exactly the same boat except I was saved by Spinfit tips. I've never tried the spiral dots. Maybe I will some day.

It's crazy how much a tiny bit of silicone costs though.

Yea, i only bought a pair because there was a deal with my CC where I could get $20 off of a $20 purchase on amazon. I wouldn’t be able to stomach $30 tips.

Definitely pricey for what they are. Though, we are in one of many money pit hobbies and it's all relative. Spending $50 on a pair of IEMs and $30 tips seems a bit silly. But if you are spending $1000s on iems and amplification $30 seem like a no brainier.

The latest batch of U12ts include SpinFits in the box.

I've been using the Spiral Dots for a while with various IEMs and really like them, I usually avoid wider bore tips as they can reduce bass and sound a little bright, they don't have that effect in my ears.

For me, they have the slightest amount of bass reduction and a small attenuation of the treble compared to the u12t stock tips. That's a sonic improvement to my ears though, coming from the Hifi arya's spacious sound.

Other tips worth trying, particularly if you have issues with retention, are Azla Xelastec, Azla Crystal and Moondrop Spring Tips.

These are all wide bore tips like Spiral Dots but at least for me, all have substantially better retention. Spring Tips are my overall favorite, and they are also much cheaper than Spiral Dots ($6 here for 3 pairs, $12 for international). They are all somewhat "tacky" in terms of the material and this helps keep it in, if I pull them out they resist a bit while Spiral Dots are quite slippery for me.

Xelastec actually change shape with body temperature and mold to your specific ear shape.

With any of these, getting the right size and something that fits well with the specific IEM (and this varies by IEM) is essential.

Thanks for the advice. Definitely going to give the xelastics a try

I recommend spiral dot tips to everyone, they were the biggest improvement to comfort and the sound of my Blon Bl-03’s. Final Audio E series tips are great as well but the fit of the spiral dots makes a lot of IEM’s sit more flush in the ears so they’re the ones I always put on first
