The fact is that probably >90% of the people posting this sub have never heard anything close to 'Summit Fi'. Also >90% have probably never tried high end closed backs. There is nothing valuable to be learned from this poll.

None of these... "Summit-Fi" just means you can only enjoy perfectly mixed and mastered music...

Summit Fi... How about "what makes me enjoy music fi"

I mean if the limiting factor for your enjoyment is how quiet the room is, technically speaking, even non-"summit-fi" options will also sound better in this hypothetical room, too.

So the poll should include moving out and living on your own. ;)

I have a few of some would call “Summit Fi” and most of them are Open Backs and still some closed backs and IEM’s sound very good as well but would still go with a open back myself.

In order:

  1. Speakers
  2. IEMs
  3. Open-Backs
  4. Closed-Backs

Interesting. I agree closed backs are the worst, but what about IEMs is better than open backs in your opinion?

What the person below said. Because IEMs are inserted close to the eardrum, they have a much easier time achieving a correct FR. Specifically in the treble is where they benefit most. I don't know the full science behind it, but it shows up consistently.
