Since headphone jacks were killed off phones and some other mobile devices (like the new Dell XPS 13's), and ever since, I've had to attach a USB-C to a 3.5mm dongle which would then connect to my IEMs, which is quite annoying.

Can someone make a USB-C IEM Cable with DAC/amp functionality, please?

Thank you listening to my rant.

I just leave an apple USB c dongle attached to my cable. I'm not aware of any specific USB cables.

How do you find the apple dongle? I tried one and the volume was incredibly low so I just bought a cheaper one off Amazon and it works much better.

From Europe or? I read somewhere that the EU dongles from apple have less power

EU version. But volume has never been an issue.

EU version. Have not even come close to maxing out volume with iems. When using it with UAPP app you can unlock the full volume range but I have never found it necessary.

Just grab a HiBy FC3, it'll improve the sound and the volume. They're cheap and work well.

u/LankyFigTree, There's that option to get on www.null-audio.com but they're expensive.

Cheapest one that combines a 2 Pin(0.78mm) with a USB-C (ALC5686 DAC version) termination costs $99

I wonder how much profit they make per cable lmao.

Thanks though, unless I find something else I will probably buy these 😭

They have one with the ESS9280C DAC and that one sends the cost to $154 with a 2 pin connector system... It's very custom how you can choose the type of connection, stereo Connection andnmic input if you want one... Lol they should make enough profit 🤣

It's cool that they have an option for a USB-C termination w/ a built-in DAC. It's kind of expensive though as you can get a separate dongle which you can use with your other headphones/IEMs.

Didn't Beyerdynamic recently make a type C to mini XLR cable. I think they priced it close to $100. They claim it has a high quality mic and built in amp and dac.

I believe Drop.com has a usb-c to 2 pin iem cable for 30 dollars. I can’t really comment on quality as I don’t own one.

Its all fun and games until you want to plug them into a dac or amp or other audio device and there is no Type C output.
