Hi! I'm getting my first good pair of headphones tomorrow (hd560s), and was wondering if there's anything I can or should do to add to my experience. I already have a Samsung dongle for phone and laptop use, and that's all really.
Also I just wanted to share it with someone, cause I'm incredibly hyped right now :D
Just use them with the dongle you have and enjoy your purchase once it arrives. Let amps, dacs, tubes and whatnot for what it is right now and just enjoy some high res recordings instead. Once you have the idea that you're "getting used" to the sound signature of your set off cans and dongle then it's time to stir it up a bit and buy something like a dac/amp combo or maybe a pair of closed back to listen to occasionally next to your open back headphones. But for now, just enjoy your set of cans and don't get too caught up in chasing the dragon;)
Just make a playlist of some of your most familiar, best-liked music, and enjoy hearing the differences when your cans arrive 🎧😎
Turn off audio enchantments in Windows settings
Prepare to use EQ
Install equalizer APO and Peace and create a profile based on Oratory1990's preset.
Get those smile muscles limbered up.
Just play your favorite songs...
This is more for once they arrive. Sometimes first impressions of headphones can be weird until you fully understand what the tuning is going for and with what kind of audio they pair well with. Eventually you develop an ear for it. Give them time.
Find a comfortable spot that you can lay/sit down for hours

First off, welcome to the hobby!! The HD560s are a great entry to audiophile headphones. My personal advice is take your time to listen to them. Don't make up your mind on the first 5-10 songs. Lastly it's important to have a good source. If you have your own HiFi library that's great if you don't I'd recommend Apple Music or Qobuz (similar price range). I hope you enjoy them!

Get a Spotify/Tidal subscription if you don't have quality files, if you don't have quality files no headphone will sound good.
Get you favorite treat and listen to your favorites albums :).
