Non-Tool:

  • One Word by Mahavishnu Orchestra (my favorite drum solo in all of music)

Yeah Mahavishnu Orchestra is a fusion band (so jazz and rock mixed) from the early 70s. Listening to them got me into prog weirdly enough. And then from there prog metal.
