They are good conversation starter, if anything.

A lot of the social media ads people I watch have actually been really good products so I was quite upset at how bad my Raycons were after seeing them advertised. Lost all credibility for trusting that podcast. To be fair though I’ve been disappointed by other earbuds including AirPods and Sony, but they were at least useable

On of the rules of YouTube is that anything marketed on there is shit. Raycons, Better help, Kamikoto knives, all those watch companies,.. They're all trash from China.

Hello Fresh is solid. They're ridiculously pushy once you cancel since they just send you codes and reminders nonstop after that but the food is really good. Every meal was head and shoulders better than anything I cook on my own.

Yes there are some exceptions but thats the rule in general. I haven't seen an add for hello fresh in a while though.

Anything that is marketed everyone heavily is most likely a mediocre product

It’s very hipster to assume anything popular is actually bad. I think it’s probably the case that most mass manufactured stuff is bad regardless of whether it’s marketed or not—making good things is hard and expensive.

As a counterpoint, I think AirPods are actually pretty good, despite being one of the most advertised and most popular headphones in existence.

I meant more not popular but heavily marketing products instead of quality, raycons, ridge wallet, manacaped etc AirPods aren’t sponsored by all the YouTubers streamers etc you don’t see ads for them everywhere.

It's the modern infomercial, the indie-accessible marketing stream. Plenty of crap, but every now and then the Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine is actually a pretty good idea, or the Ginsu knives are actually pretty sharp and durable. It's just an alternative way to market something when you don't have a big brand's name behind you.
