Not sure I've ever seen a Ray 2 on a leather strap before.

Nice watch & nice audio setup lol.

Haha thanks, nice catch by the way! The Ray 2 is my first foray into a proper watch as I was getting tired of the shortcomings of owning a smartwatch. My next purchase is going to be a Citizen Nighthawk BJ7006-56L. I'm looking forward to it!

It's a great entry to automatics as the older Seiko 5s start to become absurdly expensive.

For a dive watch it's got very reasonable dimensions & the build quality/finish makes it look fantastic for an affordable piece.

Gotta remember to keep that crown screwed down though lol.

Shortcomings of a smartwatch? Can you explain? I thought smartwatches had all kinds of utility.

All I can think of is having to charge it often

It definitely has more utility but having a mechanical watch on wrist is more “fun”

Yeah you hit the nail on the head. I like the health/fitness tracking features, I also like being able to see notifications at a glance and the vibration motor as a subtle alarm rather than sound, but having to charge yet another piece of tech daily started to become cumbersome.

That and the aesthetics of a regular watch are something I love quite a lot more than a smartwatch (though the galaxy watch 4 classic really looks great)
