After 6/7 years of arguing with myself daily about the virtues of different source options I’ve finally hit nirvana!

I’ve always been a big proponent of streaming, I do own a decent amount of music ripped, downloaded and or purchased digitally and vinyl, for all its charms, is not for me ( a very wise person with more disposable income than I once said to me “it’s the inconvenience and expense that draws me to vinyl”) after owning 5-10 streamers from the node, sonos port, CXNv2 rpi with various hats etc, and using multiple services via PC or Mac, I’ve finally arrived here!

Samsung tablet, UAPP, Qobuz, usb to mojo 2, CXA81 and LS50/Rel T0 sub.

I’ve always wanted a now playing screen that wasn’t on my main monitor, the tablet as a source via UAPP ticks so many boxes!! I have a smart plug with the charger for the tablet attached, into a usbC hub with the Mojo attached, I can kill the charge with a voice command to preserve battery life or the tablet, easily flick to bandcamp or Spotify for discovery and tablet can be taken to bed with me to listen via a dongle (which is 50% of my use)

Sound quality is as good as anything I’ve tried, convenience blows everything out of the water and I have my “now playing” screen. Everything is at arms length and feels like a super high tech juke box, the entire experience feels like something that was designed with this purpose in mind rather than an amalgam of different objects, the twin output of the mojo means I can keep my speaker amp connected and still connect headphones without unplugging stuff!

I’m elated to say the least, tablet cost me £200 on a flash sale, stand and hub plus a few cables was another £30, best money I’ve spent I hifi (I used to use Apple Music via an iPad Pro but £1200 for it to be stranded on a desk doesn’t make sense and the samsung just feels right )

Love this!

I too use a Samsung Tab S8 resting on the very same stand, using Tidal/Amazon HD, using usb to either a Dragonfly Red (in the living room) or a Modius/Magnius Schiit stack (in my office) to various headphones.

I have also been considering the Mojo 2 but struggle with idea of having to memorize the menu navigation and color codes. I hear it sounds amazing tho.

That's a nice setup. Enjoy!

I’d love to say the menu becomes second nature but I still have a few images from the manual saved to my desktop for reference, it’s a very good sounding piece of kit to my ears and I can do most things wo the out referring to the manual. I’m sure if it was something I carried daily I’d take it onboard quicker.

Gotta ask, how's UAPP? I've been using PowerAmp PRO for.. 5 years + now and only recently got a 24 bit (so it says heh) dongle for mobile use and a ZEN Dac for home to pair with it. Was shocked to see that it recognized the different DACs when running and offered Hi Res (up to 32 bit) playback. But I'm always looking for some software to try out!

It’s good, I’m always annoyed at having to use a non native app for streaming services but this works quite well, there’s a tiny delay when switching screens but it’s not a deal breaker, loads of technical settings but tbh you don’t need to alter much after installing
