I owned for 2 years the headset Pulse 3D, made by Sony. I always found it very comfortable, with a good sound for gaming and music, and absolutely beautiful. One day, I decided to look for a better headphone, especially for music. I almost bought the Momentum 4. But thinking better, I just use headphones in my home, and looking one for music, makes more sense give a try for wired ones too.

After a lot of research, I decided to go with the Sennheiser HD599. And I couldn't be more satisfied with the choice. The Pulse 3D has a bassy and muddy sound, and it's very noticeable when I compare with the Sennheiser. The HD599 has a warm sound, very balanced but nothing too neutral.

I can use them for hours and I can't even remember that I'm using it. It's tremendously comfortable. Has big earcups, with a comfy fabric. It's too light! And because of the open back design, I don't fell anymore the pressure on my head. Perfect for use while I'm working. The sound fells wide. I tried with Mozart, and now every instrument has his own place in the space. Very similar when I go in a concert.

I tried them with FIFA too, for gaming. And the fans sound are much more vivid now. Really enjoying.

After years, I'm finally enjoying listening music again. Not just as a background during the day. But having a moment just for that. I highly recommend this one. For now, I'm not using DAC or any EQ. Just plugging on PC or iPad.

I have several headsets at home and indeed the HD599s are the most comfortable. There are times when I don't even remember I'm wearing them.

I have the HD600 for pure listening, but for general computer use and gaming, and even some casual music enjoyment... gotta be the comfy HD599. Such a great headphone, and for a low price when on sale.

Exactly! I don't know how. I always find uncomfortable wearing any kind of headphone / headsets / earphones... even in comfortable models. But this one is better than nothing and I can't tell you why.

I share your enthusiasm. I've seen them going for around $100.00 lately, a tremendous bargain. i've had my pair for around four years now and they are still as comfortable and great sounding as they day i bought them.

The Sennheiser's bluetooth headphones could be in that shape. They are awesome and very comfy. I never tried the HD600. Maybe, going to São Paulo, I'll give a try. There's a Sennheiser store there.

How do you compare both models? in terms of sound, comfortable.

They cost around 339 dollars here. It's insane. I bought them for 119 on Best Buy, and imported. Paid around 199 dollars after delivery and taxes. It's much more expensive than in US, but much more cheap than here.

After four years, all the leather remains without damage?

The HD600 is less comfortable, but sounds amazing. It is definitely better tuned and more technically capable, though it does need a decent amp to show it. I use mine with the Fiio BTR5, and that works great for me, especially on wireless mode.

For the comfort, it is a step back, with higher clamping force, though the headband is better designed compared to the HD599’s faux leather.

Everything still has miles to go. The headband shows no signs of wear and the pads are intact and quite comfortable. I've got a number of headphones I keep for different reasons, so I've not used these as often as I would if they were my only pair. Nonetheless, I've spent thousands of hours with them. These sound especially great when listening to a cd through my yamaha receiver or through my little fiio k5 headphone amp. They really sing with well-mastered music, like anything by Frank Sinatra or Pink Floyd. My son swears they're the best gaming headphones he's ever used.

They also sound great wired to my fiio btr5 streaming flacs through my phone.

The detachable cable and replaceable earpads make this one a bargain for the audiophile on a budget (in the usa, at least.)

I have the HD599SE - the only differences are the colour and the packaging. They are all black and the packaging is plain cardboard. In November Amazon UK sold them for £70 (US$86.) The best value for money EVER! So comfortable and I love the sound.

Welcome to the Senny 599 club :)
