Just amazed,after being in this sub for so long i honestly didn't except the amp to make any difference to me but it did!,the bass got so much more punchier,i am hearing details in songs that I've never heard before,soundstage feels a tad wider(this is one could be placebo but i really think the stage feels wider) sound is super clean with my new dac,i am really happy about this purchase

now add a bf2. to my ears it made them sound fuller

How loud do you have it?

I have my Jot 2 (with balanced in from a Bifrost 2) at 12 o'clock in low gain with my LCD-5. And this is with a -12 dB headroom for my EQ.

About 1 a clock,but i do use a lot of eq,so something like -13 -15 pre amp, I'm using the rca,still waiting for my balanced cables haha

Gotcha. The photo makes the dial look like it's at 3 o'clock. Once you get balanced you'll need a lot less gain with the Jot 2.

HD 800S is very picky about the source. Enjoy!

If I recall, the SE output of Jotunheim 2 is sort of there for convenience, and built mostly around the balanced output.

So for those who talk about balanced audio not making a difference (I am one of those people, it normally doesn't make any difference at all), it does for this specific amp.

This is often the case with balanced amps. They’re designed to be used with the balanced output.

Is that a yellow composite video cable you’re using on your dac? You need some cable therapy.

You need two short XLR interconnect cables to run a balanced setup. You also need an XLR cable for your HD800S.
