Absolutely love the sound of these Koss KSC75 headphones. The perfect sound signature for me. Can't believe they only cost £24. The build quality is pretty awful and they look abit spaceage (not such a bad thing lol) but the sound to me is absolutely perfect. I'm wanting some overhead headphones with a similar sound but a better build quality. I've been recommended superlux and Samsons which apparently have a similar sound signature. Can anyone recommend any others with a price range around £100-£150ish. Been looking at AKG K702 and 701s. Senheisser 560s. Beyerdynamics dt990. Any that sound like these koss headphones tbh.

u/si_ro_le_88, Beyerdynamics are anything but similar to Koss KSC75 tonally... Same for the Senns but those actually have bass roll off but still are tonally different... the Koss are a special set.

The Koss has non existent energy below 100 Hz which means the Beyerdynamic is better at the deeper rumbly bass frequencies by a country mile... So that makes them very different sounding headphones

Only it's cousin the KPH30i is similar

I just re-purchased a KSC75 literally yesterday! I have to say, I forgot they have that tiny flimsy piece of metal where your ears are. I'm going to add something soft but not bulky there just to add a bit more surface pressure. I'm thinking a tiny square from a yoga mat or something should be plenty. It's the spot that gets sore for me after a while with these.

If you like the ksc75 then you should also love the kph30i. But one tip, don't open them up too far or they'll break. The whole thing is made of plastic, not metal like the porta pros or kph40. Open them just wide enough to get them on your head and you should be good.

porta pros. ksc75 are a bit more detailed but if you can EQ (even just with what looks like a treble knob on your amp there?), then you can get the porta pros to sound even better.

other than that there aren’t really any around-ear headphones that sound like either of the koss imo

Nice space! To me the KSC75 are the best headphones available.

Thanks :) I did check out the portal pro's but read that they sound slightly different. I have to have the Bass knob set to halfway and the Treble knob to halfway also as they sound abit empty and tinny otherwise and very harsh with treble set any higher than halfway so perhaps the porta pros are the way forward. They look even stranger too haha but who cares if they sound so beautiful haha

Brilliant thanks. I've had a look at them on amazon and apparently the clear colour versions sound different to the rest. And yes they look very flimsy lol do they sound better than porta pros?

Porta pro's are boomier, the bass is a bit sloppy. Can be fun. I use Portas to watch TV or play video games (I do not play first person shooters, for what it's worth) and certainly for music too but I prefer the Ksc75 just slightly for music based on milder bass.

you can just buy it on amazon. Sometimes I'm tempted but I like that they're different. I'm just going to mod them by adding whatever I can on the part that touches the top of my ear. Poor choice tomake it a thin wire. I think something slightly thicker will help.

I don't know if 'better' is the right word. The kph30i sounds different than the porta pros. Both sound great just in different ways. The porta pros are more mid and warm, or some say dark. The kph30i seem to be a bit more lively with more emphasis on the treble.

I can't pick one over the other. I think I love both equally. But the PP's definitely have the advantage over the kph30i when it comes to build quality. Both are extremely lightweight, but the plastic of the kph30i can get ya in trouble if you open them up extremely wide.

Think I will order a pair of kph30i then as I prefer more emphasis on treble and brighter sound:) shame amazon UK don't stock them will have to order from America but hopefully be worth the wait :)
