So I picked these up the other day. They are new but was in a display at a store. Cables and accessory’s was still sealed with full warranty. Got them for 1000 Canadian. I’ve never spent this kind of money on headphones before. For gaming I’ve had the Astro a50 Gen 4 and Epos h6pro open. For music I have a pair of shp9500 that I never use. I mostly just use my AirPod pro 2 for music at the gym-work.

So fair I like the gx for both music and gaming and that’s what I was hoping for. I listened to Pearl jam ten album for the 1000s time and it never sounded so good. They are very neutral to my ears, highs are not piercing and lows are not overbearing and muddy. I have no issues with comfort but I bet my ears will get warm in the summer.

Now as far as powering them it’s just from my iPhone or Xbox-ps5 controller - gaming laptop headphone jack. For music would I get better sound using my denon 4700h headphone jack and airplay from my iPhone? I tried this and it did not sound as clean but it felt much warmer. I was using the pure direct mode on the amp at the time. Also should I use the better quality cables with no mic for music? Any info would be great!

My ps5 is across the room so it’s not really a option right now. I have been thinking about changing my spare bedroom closet into a battle station. I would put my ps5 psvr 2 and my laptop in there. That might be a option if I end up doing that. I’ll have a look at it thanks.

I have the GX and they are great headphones, can be driven by anything. To answer your question on how you should drive them, let your ears decide. If you can't tell the difference then just go with whatever is the most convenient.

The cable without the microphone won't be any different in sound quality, but just a nicer quality cable in general and nice and long so if you are going to plug them into a dedicated amp and then set back on a sofa or comfy chair, a nice long cable is great.

I picked up a pair of LCD-GX during the B-Stock sale last year! I use them at my desktop with a Topping DX5, and they are certainly the best all-rounder headphones I own. The imaging and general directionality is a godsend in games, and the tuning is perfect for music listening. Plus, they're light enough to be comfortable for hours of use! My old LCD2s are not comfy, at all.

If you haven't already, you should buy one of Apple's Lightning to 3.5mm dongles. That would be the best way to listen from your phone. Plus, these are super efficient headphones, so you will have no problems driving them off it.

I already own the dongle but thanks for the tip, I did order a 1/4 to 3.5mm socket so I can use the wires with no mic for music. In warzone it’s pretty crazy I can walk by a house and hear a box and think I bet that’s on the second floor and it is. With my h6pro I would get the direction but could never tell what floor. The tuning on the headset it a bit off. You can hear steps and boxes maybe a bit better, but because they are so loud it’s hard to pin point where they are.

In your shoes, i'd get Mojo 2 instead of similar priced amp dac stack.

There is no equal to it when it comes to price to performance.

You are certainly paying extra for their brand recognition, build quality, and house sound. I find them too warm for my liking though and went with Tr-amp instead. Serbian company, great build quality, and sound as good as Mojo, although not as unique looking and sounding.

I had them (and a lot more too) but from my memory chord’s house sound is warmer while schiit was very neutral so you really can hear how your headphones sound. It’s no contest. Opinions may vary. Glad you like them though.
