I haven't listened to even one of these, very interesting list! And surprised to see the dt 990 for how much flak it's gotten recently.

Yeah well as I always say; listen with your ears first before completely judging something! Every person hears differently so you really never know if you’ll like/dislike something 100%. Even graphs are not 100% reliable because the head/ear shape of the measurement rig is different from your own head/ear shape

Not to mention unit variation. I wholeheartedly agree, and I'd probably like the 990 myself too. The 1990 peak rarely is an issue and my 770 has never been sibilant to my ears (it was actually my favorite stock signature for a long while)
