What do you mean by 45 minutes of backup?
Give me an extra battery life or something?
This seems to be way below market value so it's either a great deal or it's too good to be true or it's defective or something.
If it is a legitimately functional pair, $45 is a extremely competitive price
My wife and I have them. We use them everyday, I use them for work in calls and the are great. After a couple of years the battery is still good, 2.5 hours easy. You won't get that sound quality at that price range.
It is functional but batteries have been replaced. That's why I think backup is low. It's more than 2 years old that's why maybe cheap. It is not refurbished. it's price touched $86 during an amazon sale recently. I was stupid enough to miss it. But this person purchased it in December 2020. Also maybe he is the 2nd buyer as he has blurred out shipping address on Amazon invoice.
It is not refurbished. I am buying directly from a person. I can return it and get refund if not satisfied. I am in India and it's price touched $86 during an amazon sale recently. I was stupid enough to miss it. But this person purchased it in December 2020. Also maybe he is the 2nd buyer as he has blurred out shipping address on Amazon invoice.
I found a pair of XM3s in a trash can last year. Someone was doing a big house clean and threw them out. They were dirty and looked like a train wreck. I took them home and tore them down completely for a thorough cleaning and made them look new again. I also bought new ear pads for them on eBay and a case. Apart from one very small gouge on the head band, they look perfect now. Battery is great too.
They seem to be headphones that can take some serious punishment, so they're probably fine.
Good to know. Does opening and replacing batteries change the sound profile?
Thanks man.
I think you're probably talking about the WH-1000XM3's. I've got a set of the WF-1000XM3's and they're earbuds.
No. Earbuds.

>Rule 2: Ask purchase help questions in the Shopping and Setup Help Desk found at https://reddit.com/r/headphones/about/sticky > >Requests for product opinions, comparisons, and general purchase advice must be made in the dedicated Shopping and Setup Help Desk found at /r/headphones/about/sticky instead of a new post.

What questions are considered purchase advice?
A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.
Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.
Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").
Why does this rule even exist?
In short, this is a large subreddit with a high volume. We want to help, but it's important to keep things organized to keep the sub fun. Thanks for your understanding.
A more detailed explanation about this rule can be found here.

Just FYI, the term "battery backup" sounds weird in English, it means you have a spare battery. The proper phrasing in English is "battery life", which means how long can you use the device until the battery runs out (and "dies", until the next charge).
He mistook your post and thought you wrote WH instead of WF. The IEMs (WF) don't have pads.

That's a good deal. It's a pretty old product but a lot of people prefer the tuning of this generation to the last two and if memory serves it actually also apt-x.
If anything, it might sound too good to be true. At least based on a cursory research of eBay for used models which are flirting with 100 bucks. Sometimes more.
I can't speak to the battery replacement situation but just generally speaking, $45 for a refurb XM3 would be good value.
$45.. . My fear is it might be in worse condition because the price is so low. Seems like a reasonable bargain if there's a legitimate return and it's not "as is."
If it is as is, be aware you're taking a risk of some sorts. But the benefit would be great if it paid off.
