So yeah i just got myWF-1000xm4 today i wanted them for a small set of buds for when i cant use my senn M4s. I spent a while reading reviews and picked these over the senn MTWs reviews i read say these are better and bassier

What?

I don't know if they are poorly pre configured but these sound dreadful. They are very very tinny, the volume is either too loud or too soft with not enough granular control and if they are louder than moderate volume they distort badly. There is a absolute total lack of bass, the midrange is murky and the fit is pretty bad; they either fall out of my ears or hurt.

The main problem is the sound though they are so harsh, tinny, jangly and just lack any sort of refined sound. The noise canceling is the only thing i have been impressed by. It blocks out a lot of sound and the outside world is pretty much inaudible with music going

Again though the sound is like something id expect from $30 headphones, not $360au, the fit is bad and the extreme lack of bass and mid range kills these headphones for me. Anyone feel the same or is there some setting I'm missing? My m4s leave these for dead.

Lack of bass? You can say a lot of things but these do not lack bass, especially when you use the app to crank up the truebass

Does the app say you have a good fit?

well, as annoying as that is it does explain the horrible sound.

You can try 3rd party tips or return the,

Sounds like a fit issue as they're in ears and the app kind of confirms it since it keeps on telling you to try again with the calibration.

Certainly not my experience. I bought them to replace AirPods Pro, and much preferred the sound. Unfortunately they kept falling out, so u returned then. The sound though was quite excellent.

You either have a faulty pair or they aren't sealing properly in your ears, the wf-xm4 have unusually good bass for TWS and they have very tame treble, I prefer them to the over ear wh-xm4. In the app there is a seal test, I think its in the third section of the app, try it out. I usually have the volume at about 50%, I never raise it over 60% as it starts to get uncomfortably loud, I don't have super acute hearing.

Sounds like you got a defective pair or something. They are not tinny at all. Very warm and bassy
