Tracking, ads, bad UI (imo) and lack of PiP all push me to the web. I’ve got an awesome extension called vinegar which adds the native player, blocks, ads and more. It’s well worth the price imo

Premium solves the ads and PiP stuff. For me it's honestly worth it, but that's possibly not true for you and others.

I’m sure it does. For me and many others, as you said, it’s not worth it. And personally, paywalling a system feature (PiP) which is free on android is just absurd. And on top of that, as I said, I hate the YT UI. Vinegar replacing that UI with the native one is awesome for me. And it also works on my iPad and Mac, where I watch the majority of my content

I have PiP and I love it and you can disable tracks and ads in the Google security settings the UI is subjective i personally like it very clean and nice but that’s again subjective

Yeah, I mean you do you mate. Although I have to say, you absolutely cannot turn off tracking. You may be turning off certain tracking. But not all of it
