I always put a protector on, it doesn't affect sharpness and just protects my investment. I usually go for ESR's which also has a guild for perfect installation: ESR Tempered Glass Compatible for iPhone 11

That's how I always looked at it. If a few bucks now saves me a lot of bucks later and won't negatively affect my use or experience, why not?
